Read All About It-Emeli Sande

A little background about Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC.)  This program is sponsored by the State Department to improve international relations between the United States and other countries.  There are two sister programs in which international teachers come to the United States; these programs are International Leaders in Education Program and the Teaching Excellence Award program.  Approximately 85 teachers were accepted to the TGC program for 2012-2013.  We come from all over the United States with a wide range of backgrounds, there are teachers of all subjects and ages, some have traveled extensively, some have never traveled before.  In the fall we completed an 8-week online course about Global Education and, in addition to our international field experience, we will be completing a capstone project that we can use in our classrooms and school districts.  This group of teachers will be visiting seven different countries: Brazil, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Ukraine.  Some teachers have already completed their international field experience and the rest of us will be traveling over the summer.  This site will take you to blogs from my colleagues in case you are interested in reading about any of the other countries.  Here are some other blogs from Brazil:
